Edith M. Hough, age 81 of Shawano, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015. Edith was born on April 5, 1933 in California, the daughter of the late Rev. Edwin and Edith N. (Gassner) Reinke. She is a graduate of the Lutheran School of Nursing in St. Louis, Missouri. On June 28, 1964, Edith was united in marriage to Charles L. Hough in Chicago. Edith worked as a Registered Nurse at Children's Hospital in Chicago and then at Appleton Medical Center until retirement, then moving to the Shawano area in 1999. Edith was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Bonduel, a member of L.W.M.L., as well as a past choir member. Edith is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Charles, their children, Stephanie (David) Jablonski of Sheboygan and Steven (special friend, Doriann) Hough of Barrington, IL, 5 grandchildren, Tyler, Emily, Lauren, Ariana and Jordan, 1 sister, Sharon Schrader of Shawano, a sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Arthur of Sagle, ID, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Edith was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Edwin Reinke. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Bonduel with Rev. Timothy Shoup officiating. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday after 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established. Swedberg Funeral Home of Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements. The family wishes to thank Dr. Tammela and the staff on the 9th floor at St. Vincent Hospital as well as Unity Hospice for their wonderful care.
