Obituary

Edith M. Schutt, age 89, of Shawano, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Maple Lane in Shawano. Edith was born on November 11, 1925 in Shawano, the daughter of the late Raymond and Marie (Bauman) Webster. On April 9, 1944 Edith was united in marriage to Ewald Schutt in Shawano. They lived and farmed in the Township of Richmond. Mom was by Pap's side until his passing on February 15, 2001. The couple enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, and shared a love of Polka dancing. She was a life-long member of the Shawano United Methodist Church where she volunteered at many church activities. At the age of 86, she remained an active member of Curves. Edith took great pride in planting a garden, always sharing with others and keeping her yard immaculate. She was also proud of her many flower beds and exhibiting at the Shawano County Fair winning many merit awards. She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR racing with her beloved pets by her side. Edith is survived by her three sons, Rick (Kathie) Schutt of Shawano, Randy (Theresa) Schutt of New London, and Duane (Bonnie) Schutt of Shawano; two daughters, Debra (Jon) Westphal of Shawano and Becky Bscherer of Krakow; her grandchildren, Shelly (Rick Althaus) Schutt, Kelly Schutt, Rodney (Christine) Schutt, Tammie (Steve) Schenk, Jason (Angie) Westphal, Ryan (Samantha Flaig) Westphal, Cameron Bscherer, and Clayton (Katie Woldt) Bscherer; great grandchildren, Adam, Zachary, and Lucas Schutt, Josh and Faith Schenk and Gage and Evelyn Westphal. She is further survived by her sister, Doris Kroenke of Shawano; her brother, Ray (Sue) Webster of Ohio; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Webster and Phyllis Webster. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ewald "Pap"; son Bradley in infancy; a great granddaughter, Kayla; two brothers, Raymond and Clyde Webster; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gertrude (Ruben) Radloff, Jeanette (Roger) Gipp, Alice (Harold) Hanson, Arlene (Lloyd) Bussian, Shirley Webster and Leroy Kroenke. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the United Methodist Church on the Hill in Shawano with Rev. Allen Christensen and Rev. Domnik Israel officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano and again at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to either the Shawano County Humane Society or Happily Ever After Animal Sanctuary.
