Edna Mae Ball, age 89, passed away January 27, 2018. Born on July 11, 1928 in Sault Ste. Marie, daughter of the late Hiram and Doris (Durfee) Sawyers. Edna graduated from Sault Ste. Marie High School and worked briefly for the telephone company. In 1949 Edna was united in marriage to Lorenzo Glenwood Ball. The couple made their home in Wisconsin and farmed in Bonduel for the last portion of their lives together. Lorenzo preceded Edna in death on July 23, 2007. Edna enjoyed gardening and canning for her family. She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses since her baptism in 1954. Her favorite scripture was Romans 8:38 &39. Edna's devotion to her kingdom preaching activities and meetings at the Kingdom Hall in Shawano brought her great pleasure and contentment. She was able to pass this spiritual heritage down to her children.
Edna is survived by: her children, JoAnn (Steve) Fidika of Appleton, Bonnie (Lee) Hert of Pulaski, Marilyn (Marlyn) Kertsen of Marion, Lori-Lynn Pennock of Goodyear, Arizona, and Lorenzo J.G. Ball of DePere; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; as well as, one brother, Earl Sawyers of St. Petersburg, Florida; and one sister, Barbara Peters of Pontiac, Michigan.
A memorial service for Edna will be held at the Kingdom Hall in Shawano at 3:00pm on Sunday, January 28, 2018 with Mr. Matt Wandry officiating. Visitation will be held at the Kingdom Hall on Sunday from 1:00pm until the time of the service. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano.
