Edna Claire Peterman, age 84 of the Town of Richmond, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013 in Shawano. Born on May 19, 1929 in Milwaukee, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret (Hubbard) Zeitler. On March 2, 1948 she was united in marriage to Harvey Peterman in Shawano. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2007. Edna helped support her family throughout the years by working for O'Brien's Grocery, Spurgeon's, Coast-To-Coast, Numsimatic News, and Grosskopf Bus until her husband became ill and she retired. While working at Coast-To-Coast, the male customers who were hesitant to take her advice quickly realized how knowledgeable she was and always returned to Edna for answers to their questions. She was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ in Shawano as well as the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society. In her free time she loved being outdoors and spending time with her family and friends as well as gardening, cooking, baking and sewing. Edna is survived by: 5 daughters, Kristine Kimmer of Shawano, Kay (Ron) Keuschel of Shawano, P. Lee Peterman of Shawano, Lacey (R. Paul) MacQuinn of Bar Harbor, ME, Trina (Jody) Marcks of Gresham; 3 sons, Rick (Teresa) Peterman, Matt Peterman and Ron "Barrel" Peterman all of Shawano; 13 grandchildren, Tania Bierhals, Heather, Nathan, Josh and Greta Peterman, Chris and Brad (Maria) Keuschel, Troy (Bridgette) Popp, Lucas (Toni) Hacker, Hildie Kane, and Melody, Ross and Reid (Kori) Peterman; 4 great-grandchildren; a brother, F. "Ike" (Carol) Zeitler of Cecil and a sister, Carol (Arch) Krueger of Shawano. Edna was preceded in death by: her husband, Harvey; her parents; a sister, Marye Heller; 2 brothers, John and Bill Zeitler; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Zeitler; and 2 brothers-in-law, Willard Koehler and August Heller. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Marty Black officiating.
