Obituary

Edward E. Fenney, age 96 of Shawano, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at a local nursing home. Born on April 23, 1916 in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Alfred and Olia (Aspeslet) Fenney. He was a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving his country with the 10th Mountain Division in Italy during World War II. On June 20, 1943 he was united in marriage to Arleen Lucht in Marion. After marriage the couple made their home in Milwaukee where Edward worked for the City of Milwaukee as an iron worker and was a member of the Iron Workers Union #8. After moving to this area, Edward became a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano. He enjoyed fishing and traveling. Edward is survived by: his loving wife of 69 years, Arleen; 3 children, Sandra (Charles) Farmer of OH, Kenneth (Karen) Fenney of Colgate, Richard (Dara) Fenney of Pleasant Prairie; 4 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. Edward was preceded in death by: his parents; 7 brothers; and 3 sisters. A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Gisele Berninghaus officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 11:00am until the time of the service. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family asks that donations be made in Edward's name to the Zion Lutheran Church, 1254 S. Union Street, Shawano, WI 54166.
