IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward W.
Moede
August 9, 1948 – January 12, 2023
Edward Warren Moede, age 74, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023, in Neenah. Ed was born in Green Bay on August 9, 1948, son of the late Warren and Ila Mae (Hill) Moede. Ed was a resident of Shawano and lived in the area for many years. He also spent time living in Green Bay and the Fox Valley. Ed attended Carroll College and law school at the University of Louisville. He loved to travel, often by car, and visited 48 out of 50 states. Even as a young child, he was an avid traveler with his parents and was always up for a road trip, no matter the length. Ed enjoyed art and surrounded himself with an eclectic collection curated throughout his life. When he found a piece that spoke to him, he never hesitated to ask the owner for it, even the art off someone else's wall. He was also an enthusiastic storyteller, always eager to share stories of his experiences and adventures. Other interests included economics and sports. He loved sports so much; he bought his first color TV for March Madness in 1980. Edward was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Shawano. Along with fellow members, he hosted the annual nativity walk for 11 years running, reaching a peak of over 300 nativity scenes.
He is survived by his children, Warren James Edward "Jake" (Carey) Moede and Alexander "Alex" Nadeau Moede; grandchild, Frank Edward Moede; and numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, January 16, 2023, at the First Presbyterian Church in Shawano with Pastor Debbie Pagels officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30am until the time of service. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in the spring. Memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church in Shawano.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jenny's Assisted Living, Island Shores, and ThedaCare at Home Hospice staff for the wonderful care given.
