Obituary
Elaine Anna Smith passed away peacefully on January 22, 2017 at Birch Hill Care Center in Shawano, WI. Elaine was born April 30, 1925, in South Range, WI the daughter of the late Edwin and Anna (Isaacson) Nelson. On March 4, 1944 she married Frank Smith in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Frank preceded her in death on September 13, 2015. Elaine was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Shawano and Order of the Eastern Star. Being a devout Christian in the local church, she volunteered whenever the need arose. Elaine worked as a teacher's aide in a grade school in Hartford, WI. She had a lifelong enjoyment of music and played piano & organ when she could. Elaine enjoyed writing and receiving letters the old fashioned way. She was quite gifted in oil painted rosemaling. Elaine had an inquisitive interest in our natural world, and passed that wonderment on to her children. Her Sundays were spent watching her beloved Packers and Vikings.
She is survived by: two sons, David E. Smith of Slinger and Peter J. Smith of New Berlin; four grandchildren, Andrea (Kevin) Brehmer, Matthew, Melanie, and Michelle Smith; and a great granddaughter, Claire Brehmer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son Paul, and a daughter-in-law Constance.
Inurnment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hartford, WI.
