Elaine B. Appleman, age 75 of Shawano, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013. Elaine was born on August 18, 1937 in Shawano County and graduated from Shawano High School in 1955. After school she worked for several years at the Lutheran Brotherhood in Appleton. On June 11, 1960 she was united in marriage to Donald L. Appleman and the couple made their home in the Shawano area. Elaine was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano and worked as the church secretary for more than 25 years. The couple enjoyed going on vacations and taking short trips all over the state of Wisconsin. She also enjoyed doing needle point and crocheting. Elaine is survived by: a brother-in-law, Wayne (Sharon) Appleman of OR; and was the proud aunt and God Mother to: a niece, Karen Jacobson; a niece, Mary (nee Appleman) Adams; and a nephew, John Appleman. Elaine was preceded in death by: her husband, Donald on March 19, 2009; her parents; and a brother, Richard. Funeral services will be held at 1:00p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Gisele Berninghaus officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 11:00a.m. until the time of the service.
