Elaine Marie Bergsbaken, age 84 of Bonduel, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at her home. Born on October 28, 1933 in the town of Hartland, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Laura (Schroeder) Wussow. On May 7, 1955, she was united in marriage to Roger Bergsbaken at Zion United Methodist Church Bonduel. Roger preceded her in death July 13, 2001. Elaine worked for the Times Press in Bonduel for 4½ years. Roger and Elaine owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Harland for 46½ years until their retirement in 1991. She was a faithful member of Zion United Methodist Church in Bonduel, where she was part of the Ladies Aid. Elaine enjoyed volunteering with the Bonduel Community Archives, reading, traveling, going out to eat and playing cards. She also loved working on genealogy research.
Elaine is survived by: her daughter, Christine (Rick) Bahr of Appleton; son, Dennis (Donna) Bergsbaken of Bonduel; grandchildren, Shane (Amber) Bahr, Stacy (Chad) Olson, Brianna (Jordan) Rynish, Ashley (fiancé, Ben Pearce) Bergsbaken, Eric Bergsbaken and Kaden Bergsbaken; three great grandchildren, Caleb and Aubree Bahr and Chase Olson. She is further survived by her brother, Robert 'Bob' (Sharon) Wussow of Bonduel; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; her parents; and two brothers, Dale and LeRoy.
Funeral services for Elaine will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Zion United Methodist Church in Bonduel with Rev. Dan Nault officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Swedberg Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel and again at the church on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
Special thanks to Dennis, Donna and children for taking such good care of mom at the ranch house on their farm. She showed her appreciation and love in her final weeks by giving tender hand kisses to those who visited.
