IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elda
Redmann
October 7, 1925 – September 30, 2019
Elda Helen Redmann, age 93, of Shawano, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2019. Elda was born on October 7, 1925, in the Town of Brillion, to the late Wesley and Amanda (Krieman) Tamm. She attended Bellin Nursing School where she received her degree as a Registered Nurse. On May 26, 1951, Elda was united in marriage to Arlin Redmann in Brillion, WI. Elda worked at Bellin Hospital as the Assistant Director Operating Nurse and at the Shawano Hospital for 34 years in the Surgery Department before she retired in 1985. She was a member of Divine Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church in Shawano where she was involved in the Ladies Aid. Elda was a member of several other organizations including Shawano County Homemakers, Leader of 4H, Friends of the Shawano County Library, and also an advocate for cognitively disabled citizens.
We were all blessed to have Elda Redmann in our lives. She lived as a shining example, an endlessly quiet presence. She was busy living her life as a wife, mother, nurse, and caring for the legion of people who depended on her. She was a combination of faith, experience, wisdom, wonder and intelligence. The lessons she taught us were how to live in God's light, how to act with virtue and how to lead an admirable, compassionate life in the service of others.
Elda is survived by: her daughters, Linda (Jim Newcomb) Redmann-Welch of Sister Bay and Peggy Lane of Shawano; her sons, Randy Redmann and Steve (Diane) Redmann both of Shawano; grandchildren, John "Alex" (Michelle) Welch, Christopher (Katie Polzien) Welch, Kersten Welch, Amanda (Nikk) Brei, Erica (Mike) Ensrud, Michael (Lindsey) Redmann, Maggie Lane, Brendan Lane, Christian Lane, and Sarah Lane; great-grandchildren, Emerson Welch, Dominick Thorson, and Ava Brei; her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Shirley Redmann, Norma Blank, Marcella Redmann, and Rose (Robert) Anderson. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Arlin; her parents, Wesley and Amanda Tamm; one sister, Roma Bastian; and two brothers, Delton and Russell Tamm.
A funeral service will take place for Elda at 9:30 am, on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Divine Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church in Shawano with Rev. Wolf B. Parsons officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
