Obituary

Eldor Erdmann, age 96 of the Town of Richmond, passed on to his heavenly father on Saturday, May 23, 2015. He was born on October 24, 1918 in the Town of Richmond, to the late August and Zelma (Kroenke) Erdmann. Eldor and Patricia Kelm were united in marriage on February 22, 2005. Eldor served honorably in the United States Army in WWII from February 5, 1942 to October 23, 1945 in the 42nd General Hospital Unit as a Medic Tech 3 in the Asiatic - Southwest Pacific Theater. Eldor was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #2723 and the American Legion Post #117 in Shawano, WI. He farmed most of his life in the Town of Richmond on the family farm which he purchased after his discharge from the service. Eldor retired from the Shawano Paper Mill after nearly 37 years of employment. Eldor is survived by: his wife of 10 years, Pat; his sister, Ruth (Norman) Wright of Neenah; his brothers, Franklin (Shirley) Erdmann of Menasha, Jim (Sharon) Erdmann of Neenah, Jan Erdmann; and his step-daughter, Sandra Jones of Shawano. Eldor will also be missed by beloved nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Eldor is preceded in death by: his first wife of 37 years, Gertrude (Butts) Erdmann; his parents; brothers and sisters, Arleen (Reinhardt) Teetzen, Roy (Elaine) Erdmann, Lestor (Della) Erdmann, Samuel (Kathy) Erdmann, Anita (Oscar) Hammer, Orvis (Joyce) Erdmann, Marlin Erdmann, Verna (Mervin) Dallman and Ila (William) Boyson, Joanne (Mike) Meisner, Sonja (Bob) Stewart, William Jones, as well as a sister in infancy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with Rev. Luke Ferris officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano and again on Thursday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #117 and the VFW Post #2723. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery in Tigerton.
