Eleanor D. "El" Paiser Eleanor Delores "El" (Stoehr) Paiser, age 88 of Gresham, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, September 27, 2011 at the Maple Lane Health Care Center , Shawano. Our beloved mother lost her struggle with Alzheimer's disease but we believe we never left her heart. She was born on May 6, 1923 at her grandparent's home in the Town of Seneca, to Michael and Emeline (Heins) Stoehr. She grew up with her five siblings on the family farm in the Town of Herman where they learned the value of hard work. Her least favorite chore was watching the cows, and as a child believed that her father purposely planted two or three crops in one field just so she would have to watch the cows. She attended a small country school that was not far from her home and later graduated from Gresham High School in 1940. While attending a dance, El met her future husband, Lornie. The couple was married on October 10, 1942 and raised their seven children in Lyndhurst. El worked and played hard raising her children, teaching them at her bedside and on the ball field. She loved doing many things but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and she most enjoyed watching and supporting her grandchildren in sports and other activities. So much so, that she was awarded Gresham's "Fan of the Year." El was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served the Lord as Relief Society President, Primary President, Seminary Teacher and Primary Teacher. She was a wonderful seamstress who was always willing to share her many talents with other. She will always be remembered as the most loving mom and grandma. El is survived by: her husband of 68 years, Lawrence; 6 children, Cheryl Paiser of Gresham, Barbara (Derald) Gast of Shawano, Joan (Richard) Mullen of Antigo, Susan (Andrew) Summers of Green Bay, Penny (Dennis) Rekow of Gresham, Michael (Susan) Paiser of Alpine, UT; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Paiser of Plattsburg, NY; 36 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Grant (Delores) Stoehr, Delroy (Linda) Stoehr; and a sister, Joyce (Joe) Miller. El was preceded in death by: her son, Leland Paiser; a grandson, Christopher; a great-grandson, Kevin; 2 grandsons-in-law, Marc and Randy; her parents; a brother, Aubrey Stoehr; and a sister, Muriel Cerveny. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Gresham with Bishop Dennis Rekow officiating. Burial will be in the Roosevelt Cemetery in the Town of Seneca. Visitation will be held at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham on Friday from 5-8pm and at the church on Saturday after 10am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
