Eleanor Bessie “Ellie” Thayer, age 87, of Bonduel passed away on Saturday March 21, 2026, at her home. Ellie was born on July 21, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Anthony and Lillian (Sticha) Doljanin. On February 14, 1959, she was united in marriage to Robert Thayer, Jr., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Chicago. The couple made many memories throughout their marriage until Robert’s passing in 2016. In Ellie’s free time, she enjoyed shopping, traveling and a good whiskey drink. She always looked forward to her Thursday nights at the Lumberyard in Bonduel with her friends and having coffee dates with the gals from her Strong Bones exercise class. Ellie made differences in many peoples lives; there wasn’t a stranger or a person in need that she didn’t help. Her house was open to anyone who needed it and she had wisdom beyond her years. Ellie was sassy in her own ways and never took no for an answer. She enjoyed chatting with everyone and was loved by everyone. Ellie’s family was her world; her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were always spoiled.

Ellie is survived by her children, Laura Thayer, Janet (Stephen) Cheney and Kim Jiskra; grandchildren, Rob (Suzy) Wettstein, Kyle (Megan) Cheney, Ryan (Anne) Wettstein, Kristin Cheney, Kelli (Billy) Forrest, Hallie (Patrick) Doty, Tyler (Stacia) Matelski, Jackson Jiskra and Riley (Jane) Jiskra; great-grandchildren, Ella, Max, Wynn, Harper Jean, Charlie, Myles and Lillian; and fur grandchildren, Millie, Oliver, David and Zion. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, current Bonduel friends and Wabeno Friends.

Ellie is preceded in death by her husband Robert; sisters, Lorraine, Dorothy, Kate and Jean; parents, Anthony and Lillian; and niece, Gina.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday June 12, 2026, at the Lumberyard in Bonduel from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm all are welcome to share the memories of Ellie.
