Elizabeth Shames, age 59, of Bonduel, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019. Born to the late John P. and Jule A. (Wolf) Hale in New York, NY, on October 4, 1959; the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.  Elizabeth loved animals and had an animal rescue service.  She was a devoted and caring mother to her son Christopher, who passed away on January 3, 2016, due to health complications.

Elizabeth is survived by: her brother, Dr. Jack (Marti) Hale of Green Bay; two nieces and one nephew; as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher T. Shames and her parents.

A memorial mass will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano.  Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 1:00 pm until the time of the service. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
