IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elizabeth
Waupoose
November 21, 1956 – November 22, 2022
Elizabeth "Betty Ann" Ann Waupoose was born to Robert E. Waupoose and Bernice C. (Perrault, White Earth Nation, MN) Waupoose on November 21, 1956. She lived her final hours on November 22, 2022, enveloped with the love of her daughters and her grandchildren.
Elizabeth's life was chaptered mostly between the Menominee Indian Reservation and Kenosha, with her family rooted among both places. The reservation was where her heart was, but Kenosha was home. She attended schools on the reservation and earned her GED from Gateway in Kenosha. One of her favorite accomplishments was achieving her CDL so she could drive children to school on the school bus. Elizabeth was well-known for her exceptional cleaning skills, which set an extraordinary standard.
Throughout her life, she had overcome obstacles, making the best decisions she could for her girls. She was resourceful and defeated barriers, instilling resilience and strength in all four of her daughters, teaching them, "Where there's a will, there's a way." Elizabeth had never ending love in her life for her girls and all her grandchildren. She loved fishing on Sand Lake and Moshawquit Lake. She also loved being out in the woods, picking blackberries in the fall, finding those hidden strawberries that grew along roadways, and making a big pan of strawberry shortcake afterwards. She'd take her daughters and grandbabies on little adventures, out swimming or fishing, on bike rides, and teaching them what she knew. She enjoyed going to thrift stores and finding little treasures and good deals. Her favorite moments were when she was surrounded by her family at picnics, dinners, and holidays. They'd never leave without hearing, "Okay, gimme a hug!"
Elizabeth will forever live in the hearts of her daughters; Catherine "Cat" (Kris) and their children, Joseph and Olivia; Reanna and her children, Israel, Jorge Jr., Joel, Alexa, Angel, and Alyssa; Marsha and her children, Carlos "Adrian" and Andrew; Susan (Frank) and her children Indigo and Tego "Spirit". She is also survived by her brothers and sisters; David, Rose, Margaret "Peggy", Joyce, Randy, Robert "Bobby", and Mary Jo.
Elizabeth was preceded in passing by both of her parents and her brother William in infancy
A visitation for Elizabeth will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Friday, November 25 th, 2022, starting at 11:00 am until 2:30 pm, followed by the burial at the Menominee Nation Cemetery in Middle Village.
