Ellen Marie Shepard, age 62, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Thursday May 15, 2025, in Green Bay. She was born on April 25, 1963, in Green Bay to the late Vernon and Bernice (Lawrenz) Schneider. Ellen was raised on the family farm in Cecil and was introduced early on to the love of her life Terry Shepard, who was the local milk man. Before marrying him, she was determined to finish her schooling. She graduated from the Marion College in Fon Du Lac with her nursing degree.  She was united in marriage to Terry on June 21, 1986, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in White Clay Lake. Ellen was a registered nurse at St. Vincent's Hospital in Green Bay for many years and continued nursing as long as she could. In her free time, she loved snowmobiling, traveling with her husband, flower gardening and even sky diving. She was adventurous to her core. Everyone who loved her knew her as outspoken woman and a jokester. Ellen most of all had a deep devotion to her faith and she was a member of the church choir. Ellen was a wonderful wife and sister and will be deeply missed.

Ellen is survived by: her husband of 39 years, Terry, and her numerous siblings, in laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her parents and her sister in infancy.

A funeral service for Ellen will be held at 11:00 am at Peace Lutheran Church-ELCA in Green Bay with Pastor Stuart Dornfeld officiating. Visitation will begin on Monday May 19, 2025, at Swedberg Wendt funeral home from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Visitation will begin again at the church at 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in White Clay Lake following services.
