Emmett James
Kaquatosh, Sr.
July 6, 1946 – January 6, 2026
Emmet James Kaquatosh, Sr., age 79, of Keshena passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 6, 2026, at his home. Emmett was born on July 6, 1946, Keshena to the late Mitchell and Mary (Waupekenay) Kaquatosh. He graduated from Shawano High School in 1964 and attended NWTC and Fox Valley Technical College. On July 17, 1976, Emmett was united in marriage to Marcella LeRoy at St. Anthony Catholic Church. The couple spent a wonderful 41 years together before her passing in 2018. He worked at the Oneida Casino for many years before becoming a full-time grandpa. His grandchildren were his world and loved all the memories he made with them.
Emmett is survived by his children, Emmett (Samantha) LeRoy , Jr., Christpoher (Carrie) LeRoy, Richell (Cirilo) Kaquatosh and Kennedy Kaquatosh, Sr.; grandchildren, Tommy, Kennedy, Jr., Anikin, Anahkohsaeh, Mandy, Kellen, Rueben, Shane, Joseph, Alexis, Ohkwalikwan, Vincent, Aniya, Rodney, Frank, Emily, Aaron, Christopher, Jr., Emmett and Josh; and siblings, Gary Kaquatosh, Karen Ninham, Richard Kaquatosh and Edward Kauqatosh. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Emmett is preceded in death by his wife, Marcella Kaquatosh; siblings, Roger, Vincent, Annie and Dolly; and parents, Mitchell and Mary Kaquatosh.
A funeral service for Emmett will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday January 10, 2026, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit with Fr. Hanz Christian officiating. Visitation will be held at Neopit Community Center on Thursday January 8, 2026, starting at 2:00 pm until the time of service on Saturday. Inurnment will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.
A special thank you to the staff at ThedaCare Hospice, granddaughter, Emily for helping care for grandpa and everyone that donated food and wood for the fire.
