Erna A. Fletcher, age 95 of Shawano, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012 in Shawano. Born on September 23, 1916 in Thornton in Shawano County, she was the daughter of the late Ewald and Anna (Mailahn) Eggert. On July 20, 1953 she was united in marriage to Charles Fletcher in Kentucky. He preceded her in death on December 18, 1990. Erna lived in Florida for 20 years before returning to the Shawano area where she was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. She worked for Briggs & Stratton and for Teletype Corporation as a key punch operator. Erna is survived by: a step-son, Robert Fletcher of Waukesha; a step-daughter, Betty Ruble of Waukesha; step-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Alice Eggert and Iris Eggert both of Shawano; 5 nieces, Julie (David) Baye of Green Bay, Nancy (Tim) Shoup of Bonduel, Sally (Jim) Bender of Topeka, KS, Kathy (John) Laatsch of Pulcifer, Cindy Hopper of Milwaukee; 5 nephews, Don (Marilee) Eggert of Shawano, Thomas (Diane) Eggert of Shawano, John (Susan) Eggert of Shawano, Ken (Diana) Eggert of Shawano, Terry Fischer of Milwaukee; and a special friend, Patsy Fischer of Floral City, FL. Erna was preceded in death by: her husband, Charles; a step-daughter, Barbara; step-daughter-in-law, Irene Fletcher; her parents; 2 sisters, Leona (William) Burns, Ellenora (Joseph) Fischer; and 2 brothers, Vendor and Marvin Eggert. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Dennis Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the Fountains Memorial Park Cemetery in Homosassa, FL. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday after 9:30am until the time of the service.
