Ervin Leonard Brede, age 87, passed away on Friday March 24, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family in Cecil. Ervin was born on September 19, 1935, to the late Frank and Rose (Kloes) Brede, in the Town of Washington, at the home farm where he lived his whole life. He graduated from Bonduel High School class of 1952. Ervin met the love of his life at a dance at the Rustic Resort, Cloverleaf Lake. On June 2, 1962, he was united in marriage to Carol Witzke at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Clintonville. In the early years after high school, Ervin was a milk truck driver and worked for Harry and Walter Bankert. He dairy farmed most of his life. After retiring he drove a bean picker for Senca Foods in Gillett and in the wintertime he worked for Equity Livestock. Ervin held various church positions throughout his life such as church treasurer, elder and church school board.

Ervin is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol; his children, Wanda (Steven) Daskam, of Cecil, Carla (Scott) Blood, of Birnamwood and Brian (Catherine) Brede, of Cecil; his grandchildren, Melissa Daskam, Caleb Brede, Logan Brede, Merrik Brede and Christopher Brede.

Ervin is preceded in death by his sister Ella Mae (Richard) Pierner and his parents, Frank and Rose.

A funeral service for Ervin will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday April 2, 2023, at Immanuel Lutheran/ White Clay Lake Church in Cecil with Pastor Craig Nehring officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in the spring.
