Ethel M. Schauske, age 87, of Bowler passed away on Friday, May 23, 2014 at her home. Ethel was born on December 7, 1926 to the late Joe and Mary (Hill) Coyhis. Ethel attended school in Morgan Siding and after graduating went on to work numerous jobs throughout the area. She eventually took a job as a book keeper in the health care field, a job which she did for over 30 years. Ethel was united in marriage to Henry J. Schauske in Bowler on April 24, 1976. He preceded her in death on January 27, 1978. After retirement Ethel went on to work as a housekeeper at the North Star Casino for nine years. In her free time she enjoyed playing slots at the casino, bingo at the elderly center, and the card game "War" with her daughter-in-law. Ethel also had a passion for feeding and watching the birds. She was a happy and bubbly person who will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Ethel is survived by: her son Kurt (Brigid) Malueg of Seymour; four grandsons, Joshua (Melissa), Jason, Christopher (Ashley), and Keith Malueg; as well as 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her husband, her parents, and numerous brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at the Lutheran Church of the Wilderness with Rev. Melinda Shriner officiating. Burial will be in the Red Springs cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
