Eugene R. Marsh, age 81, of Shawano, passed away at home on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. He was born on August 21, 1939, in St. Paul, MN, to the late Melvin and Alma (Werth) Marsh. He was united in marriage to Gloria Jean Furch on February 24, 1962 in Cleveland, MN. He was a good and loving husband-father-grandfather. He worked nearly his entire working life in the lumber industry-but his most important job was being a family man. In his spare time and in retirement he loved golfing, gardening, hunting, fishing, and an occasional cocktail. He and Gloria traveled extensively, seeing Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, and much of the United States.

Gene served as president of three congregations: St. Paul's Lutheran Church in LeCenter, MN, Zion Lutheran Church in Sister Bay, as well as Prince of Peace in Sturgeon Bay. He also served in the Civil Defense auxiliary police in LeCenter, MN.

Eugene is survived by : his wife Gloria; his children Dinah (Kevin) DeBauch, Andrea (Toby) Hornslein, Cheryl (Troy) Drake, and Brian (Deanna) Marsh; his sister-in-law Pastor Sharon Furch. Left to treasure his memory are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is further survived by a niece, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Alma; his mother-in-law and father-in-law Ervin and Saila Furch; his brother-in-law Wayne Furch.

A memorial service for Eugene will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home on Monday July 5, 2021 at 1:00pm with Pastor Scott Ludford officiating. Visitation will be held at 11:00 am on Monday at the funeral home until the time of service.
