IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eugene G.
"Poochie" Decker
January 30, 1940 – November 29, 2016
Eugene George "Poochie" Decker, age 76, of Shawano, formerly of Two Rivers, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in Appleton. Born on January 30, 1940 in Manitowoc County, he is the son of the late Roman M. and Caroline (Sporer) Decker, Sr. He attended high school in Two Rivers, and after graduating, enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. After his honorable discharge, Poochie was united in marriage to LuDene Peck on May 19, 1962 in Manitowoc. The couple ran D&D Auto Body in Two Rivers and raised Emu's on D&D Feather Farm. In his younger years, he raced stock cars and continued to follow the sport in his later years. Eugene loved riding motorcycles, and carried that love into custom motorcycle building and painting. The couple often spent weekends and summers in Shawano County, and in 1996 made the area their home. Poochie enjoyed hanging out by the barn and watching the wildlife, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and spending time with his yellow lab, Libby. More than anything he loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
Eugene is survived by: his loving wife of 54 years, LuDene; their two children, Keith (Beth) Decker of Antigo and Dawn Decker of Menominee Falls; four grandchildren; Alexandra (Kyle) Stoltz of Jackson, Claire Decker of Greenville, Chloe Decker of Antigo and M. Keiffer McCann of Menomonee Falls; as well as one great-granddaughter, Colette. He is further survived by his sisters, Carol Mane, Lorraine (David) Terens, Shirley (Duane) Harms, Beverly (John) Rautman, Margaret (David) Lodl and Patty Eslinger and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Isaiah Decker; his parents; and siblings, Diane, Bonnie, Roman, Jr, and Rodney.
No services will be held at this time, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
