Obituary
Eunice Lorraine Safford, age 93, of Nebraska, formerly of Shawano, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 in Nebraska. Born on September 2, 1923 in Langlade County, she is the daughter of the late Benjamin and Alma (Fultz) Mauk. On August 7, 1940 Lorraine was united in marriage to Erie Safford in Iowa, who preceded her in death on October 25, 2011. Lorraine and Erie raised their family and farmed in the White Lake area. While in Wisconsin, she was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Shawano where she was the Sunday school superintendent and teacher for many years. Lorraine enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as camping and fishing.
Lorraine is survived by: a daughter, Carolyn (Don) Roth of CO; two sons, Dana (Lupe) Safford of NE, Erie (Loretta) Safford, Jr. of NE; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren; siblings, Benny (Mary) Mauk of Elton, WI, Sam (Ronnie) Mauk of Phlox, Sheri Verburg of WA and Laurie (Jerry) Megee of White Lake.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Erie; one daughter, Barbara Meyers; one great-granddaughter; her parents; two brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano. Burial will be in the Bent Cemetery in the Town of Bryant. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 am until the time of the service.
