Obituary

Evan E. Johnson, 75, a former longtime resident of Shawano and was currently residing at Aster Assisted Living Center in Clintonville, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019. Evan was born on April 13, 1944 to Ray and Beryl Johnson. Evan graduated from Pittsville High School in 1962. Evan married his high school sweetheart, Marge, on April 13, 1962. Evan and Marge were married for 56 years until her passing in October of 2018. Evan was employed as a supervisor at Little Rapids Corporation in Shawano for over 30 years and retired in 2004. Upon their retirement, Evan and Marge enjoyed annual trips to Mexico and other warm weather destinations during the winter months. They also spent many years enjoying boating and fishing on Shawano Lake and camping up north. Evan was known as a man who could fix anything, rarely following standard repair practices, but he always got it fixed! His sons still give a knowing smile whenever they talk about dad knowing a "shortcut" to a destination, even though it always meant an additional 30 minute drive. Evan always enjoyed taking the scenic route whenever possible. To all who knew him, he was the one you called whenever you needed help with anything.

Evan was survived by his four sons Don (Traci) Johnson of Tomahawk, Dan (Jean) Johnson of Green Bay, Brian (Kris) Johnson of Shawano, and Bruce (Lena) Johnson of Clintonville. Evan and Marge were blessed with seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Evan was further survived by his sister Marlene (Don) Neve of Pittsville.

Evan was preceded in death by his wife Marge, his parents, and his in-laws Ernest and Joyce Kiesling.

In accordance with Evan's wishes a private family celebration of his life will be held.
