IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Evelyn Esther
Homan
October 10, 1928 – June 6, 2024
Evelyn Esther Homan, age 95, passed away on Thursday June 6, 2024, in Shawano surrounded by family. She was born on October 10, 1928, at her family home in the Town of Washington to the late Robert and Helene (Schmidt) Polzin. Evelyn resided at her birthplace for her entire 95 years. On June 2, 1957, she was united in marriage to Bruce Allen Homan. The couple spent a wonderful 60 years together before his passing in 2017. Evelyn's dry wit was well known to everyone who knew her. She was a wealth of knowledge and was devoted to her faith. Evelyn was the ultimate homemaker and homesteader; she could cook, sew, quilt and crochet. She was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in White Clay Lake and was proud to be a member of the Ladies' Aid. Evelyn enjoyed gardening with her husband in his retirement. She loved the Green Bay Packers and did her best to watch the games until the very end. Evelyn was an amazing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; she will be dearly missed.
Evelyn is survived by her five children, Mark (Tammy) Homan of Marion, Gary (special friend, Meg) Homan of Cecil, Jeff (Kathy) Homan of Cecil, Alan (Anita) Homan of Bonduel and Kris (Greg) Popp of Freedom; grandchildren, Michael (Stacey), Tyler (Kayla), Tammy (Kevin), Melissa (Jeremiah), Tarah (Travis), Thomas (Danielle), Matthew (Katlynn), Trevor (Nikki), Amber (Ryan), Courtney (Pat), Kaitlyn, Evan, Brandon, Kaycie, Bill, Carl (Michele) and Leslie; great-grandchildren, Jase, Kasen, Kaylee, Rylan, Everly, Jacqueline, Javon, Ryan, Myles, Morgan, Kyzer, Everett, Hudson, Harper, Averlynn, Walker, Kazen, Eleanor, and two great-grandsons on the way. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband Bruce; sisters, Viola (Bernard) Muck and Lillian (Paul) Heller; and parents, Robert and Helene.
A funeral service for Evelyn will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday June 11, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in White Clay Lake with Rev. Craig Nehring officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 am and continuing until the time of service.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rev. Craig Nehring for his kind ministry to all of us. We also want to thank the caring friends of Immanuel Lutheran Church, especially Sandy and Betsy for their companionship.
