Obituary

Evelyn Esther Wronka, age 98, of Shawano passed away on Monday May 26, 2025, at St. Vincent's hospital in Green Bay. Evelyn was born on June 28, 1926, in Rosholt, Wisconsin to the late Leo and Helen (Buza) Jazdzewski. She was raised on a farm along with her 8 siblings. Evelyn worked at American Motors during the war effort and recognized herself as one of the Rosie Riveters.

She was united in marriage to Stanley Wronka in 1948.  They lived in Milwaukee where they raised their family of 6 children. She left the factories to be a full time homemaker after the birth of her third child,  devoting herself to her family and community, volunteering for the church and schools her children attended, singing in the church choir, working the voting polls, volunteering for girl scouts, and more.

When Stanley retired, they relocated to Shawano, next to the park where they had previously spent many vacations with their children and extended family, swimming, fishing, entertaining, enjoying fish fries and more. In 1990, her husband Stanley passed from colon cancer and years later she met her second husband Richard Mullen.  Evelyn enjoyed traveling at home and abroad with Richard to see many places and cultures.  They spent their winters in their home in Hemet, California and summers at Legend Lake in Keshena and Shawano. After Richard's passing she spent her winters in The Villages in Florida with her sons, and summers in her home next to Shawano County Park.  While living in Shawano, for the remainder of her life, Evelyn was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, Shawano Ladies Club, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Martin Catholic Church in Cecil, prayer group and her swim group at the Shawano Recreation Center.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Barbara Wronka, Steve Wronka, Jim (Susan) Wronka, Brian Wronka, Karen Parker and Eileen Gavin; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Leo Jazdzewski. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Wronka; second husband, Richard Mullen; daughter-in-law, Carrie Wronka; grandson, Taylor Gavin; three brothers, Leonard Jazdzewski, Edward Jazdzewski and Robert Jazdzewski; and four sisters Bertha Gosh, Regina Belke, Irene Ostringa and Emily Wozniak.
