Faye Lynn Kohel, age 56, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022 in Shawano. She was born on September 2, 1966 to the late Anthony Kohel and Shirley LaMotte in Shawano. Faye enjoyed smudging and was deeply connected to her native roots. She was well known for her love of dresses and the Green Bay Packers. She was an avid fan! Faye was an artist and enjoyed coloring to relax. She loved to bake and make homemade Christmas candy. Faye would sneak candy even if she wasn't supposed to. She loved spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren. They knew she wouldn't use "tough love" with them and they could count on her for unconditional love and support. Extended family was also important to Faye and she loved them dearly. They know who they are!

She is survived by her children, Amanda Sanapaw and Alvin Sanapaw, Jr.; grandchildren, Emily, Shane Jr., William, Hayli and Joseph; and brothers and sisters, Brenda (Mike Mohawk) Kohel, Anthony Kohel, Jr., Jeff Wychesit, Lenore Wayka and Wayne Wayka.

Faye is preceded in death by parents; brothers and sisters, Madeline Kohel, Joan Vele, Daryl Wayka and Marvin Wayka, Jr.; special daughter, Shaunice King; and the father of her children, Alvin Sanapaw, Sr.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at the residence of Lenore Wayka, N3456 State HWY 47, Neopit. Visitation will be held after 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at the residence until the time of service on Thursday.
