Obituary

Floyd Lawrence “Shorty” “Little Man” Williams, age 91, of Bowler, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at his home. Floyd was born on February 16, 1935, in Red Springs to the late Byron and Naomi (Johnson) Williams. He worked most of his life at Chudnow Iron and Metal Works as a crane operator. On July 10, 1954, Floyd was united in marriage to Audrey Metoxen in Sturgeon Bay. When Floyd wasn’t being a family man he enjoyed going to the casino playing slots, bingo, four wheeling, hunting and fishing. When it came to his children, he only had to tell them things once for them to listen. Always made sure they spoke properly and politely, no cuss words allowed! Floyd had a great sense of humor but was stern and fair if he needed to be; his way was usually the right way. Even though everyone on the Stockbridge Munsee Reservation knew him, names alluded him, but he remembered people regardless. Floyd was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend; he will be deeply missed.

Floyd is survived by his wife of 72 years, Audrey Williams; children, Billie (Jeff) Svrcek, Floyd (Kim) Williams, Jr., Darlene (Kent) Knapp, Gerald “Al” Williams, Laurie (Robbie) Brinkman, George Williams and Marlo (Dan) Zagorski; grandchildren, Charmine, Amanda, Melissa, Kevin, Kane, Cassie, Wendy, Nicole, Carmen, Jessica, Ronald and Monika; great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Nathan, Wyatt, Aubrie, Chase, Jacob, Aria, Aniyah, Olivia, Oliver, Isaiah, Nevaeh, Caleigha and Elijah; great-great-granddaughter, Amilia; brother, Eli Williams. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Floyd is preceded in death by his siblings, John Williams, Gene Williams, Angeline Newton, Beatrice Slack, Albert Williams, Priscilla Brontie and sister in infancy, Joyce; and parents, Byron and Naomi Williams.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Stockbridge Elderly Center. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the center from 10:00 am until the time of service.
