Forrest Lee King, age 87 of Keshena, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 in Shawano. Born on February 24, 1929 in Springfield, IL, he was the son of the late Harry and Rutha (Widdoes) King. On May 12, 1949 he was united in marriage to Margaret Tomow in Champaign Urbana, IL. Forrest was in the army, a member of the Veterans of the Menominee Nation, American Legion and worked for the Menominee Co. Highway Department for 32 years. He lived in Keshena all of his married life and enjoyed working on cars

Forrest is survived by: his daughter, Lynnell Perez of Keshena; 7 grandchildren; Dodie, Derrick Jr., Forrest, Daniel, Miranda, Nicole and Luke; 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter; his siblings Gene, Harry, Dennis and Prima; he is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Forrest was preceded in death by: his wife Margaret, his parents, his son, Henry, 3 brothers and 2 sisters and son-in-law Derrick Perez Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the Keshena Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Michael Eldridge officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Veterans of the Menominee Nation. Visitation will be held at the church from 1:00 pm on Monday, August 29, 2016 until the time of the service. Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.
