Kakwitch
April 17, 1943 – March 6, 2024
Frances A. Kakwitch, age 80, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024, in Shawano. Frances was born in Keshena on April 17, 1943, daughter of the late William and Mary Ann (Waupoose) Waubanascum, Sr. On May 21, 1965, Frances was united in marriage to Warren Kakwitch at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit. Warren preceded her in death on August 14, 2006. Frances loved visiting with friends and family often while playing bingo, playing cards, or watching the Packers or Brewers. She also enjoyed the time she spent time at the Neopit Senior Center. More than anything, she loved time with her family, especially her precious grandchildren. She had many wonderful memories of times spent at the family's Bass Lake, lake lot. A wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she will be deeply missed and always remembered.
Frances is survived by: her children, Louis (Barbra) Kakwitch and Warren (MaShanna Waukau) Kakwitch, Jr.; eight grandchildren, Danielle, Delsy, Lariah, Warren III, Brian, Hazel, Phalynn, and Haylee; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, William Waubanascum, Jr.; and a sister-in-law, Rose Waubanascum. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Warren Kakwitch, Sr., her parents, and her siblings, Jean (Donald) Boivin, Janet (William) Sechrist, Alfred Waubanascum, Renita (Randy Madosh) Waubanascum, and Gerald Waubanascum.
A funeral service for Frances will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Keshena with Fr. Hanz Christian officiating. Visitation will be held at the St. Michael Parish Hall beginning at noon on Friday and continuing until the time of the service on Saturday.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Evergreen Nursing Home and ThedaCare in Shawano for the wonderful care they provided.
