Frances A. Prohaska, age 92 of Shawano, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2011 in Shawano. Born on November 19, 1918 in Gresham, she was the daughter of the late Nickolas and Mary (Boudnik) Stezenski. On January 7, 1956 she was united in marriage to Frederick P. Prohaska in Milwaukee. Throughout their marriage, the couple lived in Brookfield, Clearwater, Tampa, St. Peter, and West Bend. After Frederick's death, Frances moved back to the Shawano area in 1998. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. Frances is survived by: a sister, Veronica (Floyd) Kristof of Leopolis. Frances was preceded in death by: her husband, Frederick on July 2, 1997; her parents; 2 sisters; and 4 brothers. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with the Rev. David Barrett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Sunday from 4-6pm and at the church on Monday after 9:30am until the time of the service. Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.
