Obituary

Frances Mary "Babe" Walker, age 87, of Neopit passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018 in Shawano. Born on February 15, 1931 in Zoar, she is the daughter of the late Monroe "Kaso" and Jane (Heath) Weso, Sr. Frances graduated from UWGB with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She loved teaching her 4th graders at the Menominee Elementary School until retiring in 1991. Frances was very active in tribal politics and enjoyed thrift shopping in her free time.

Frances is survived by: six children, Gerald (Mary) Weso of Zoar, Thomas (Denise) Weso of Kansas, Mary Sanapaw of Neopit, Donovan Walker of Neopit, Terri (Keith) Katchenago of Keshena and Merlita Webster of Neopit; grandchildren, Pemy Fleuker, Morgan Butner, Laura Paredes, Rachel Corn, Yvonne Katchenago, Monroe Weso, Michael Weso and Nathaniel Weso; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Gray of Middle Village and Anita (Robert) Perez of West Branch; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two children, Diane and Robert; her parents; three brothers, Monroe, William and Donald; and three sisters, Lorraine, Dorothy and Karen.

A viewing will be held at the Neopit Community Center from 7:00pm on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 until 2:00pm on Wednesday.
