Frank M. Patoka, Jr., age 80 of Shawano, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at a local nursing home. Born on May 29, 1932 in Portage County, he was the son of the late Frank M. and Clara (Trzebiatowski) Patoka, Sr. In 1953 Frank enlisted with the United States Army and served his country during the Korean War. On August 25, 1956 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Jurgella in Stevens Point. After marriage, Frank worked as a diesel mechanic for Inland Diesel. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing, vegetable gardening and spending time with his family. Frank is survived by: 2 children, Roger (Paula) Patoka of Milwaukee, Shelly Johnson of Shawano; 3 grandchildren, Heather Johnson, Sara Patoka, Ryan Patoka; 2 brothers, Eugene (Debbie) Patoka of Plover, John (Terry) Patoka of Menasha; 2 sisters, Pearl Drewa of Appleton, Betty (Larry) Repinski of Stevens Point; and 2 brothers-in-law, Bob Roberts of Shawano and Phil Galloway of Stevens Point. Frank was preceded in death by: his wife, Dorothy on December 9, 2006; his parents; and 3 sisters, Delores, Bridget and Vi. A memorial service will be held at 11:00a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2012 at the St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cecil with the Rev. David Barrett officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Shawano American Legion Post #117 at the church following the service. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday after 10:00a.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will be in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Shawano.
