Obituary

Frederick "Fritz" Charles Klevesahl, age 89 of Bonduel, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021. Fred was born on March 3, 1931 to the late Frederick and Hannah (Hinkel) Klevesahl, Sr. and was baptized and confirmed at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church.  Fred graduated from Bonduel High School in May of 1949.  He enlisted in the United States Army on October 10, 1951 and went on to proudly serve his country as a member of the 18 th Ordinance MM Company. He was stationed in Germany and served during the Korean Conflict. On August 14, 1954, Fred was united in marriage to Helen Kallies at Our Savior Lutheran Church in the Town of Lessor.  Fred was a lifelong member of Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bonduel. He worked for FWD and the Shawano County Highway Department for over 20 years before retiring. Fred was a member of the Bonduel American Legion, Zernicke-Wegner Post 217, where he served for 68 years and held various offices. In his free time, he enjoyed playing sheepshead, bowling, fishing, working on cars, attending car shows, and watching "The 3 Stooges" and old movies.

Fred is survived by his wife of 66 years, Helen; children, Cindy (Mike) Winkler of Shawano, Randy (Wendy) Klevesahl of Peshtigo, and Shelby Lance of Bonduel; grandchildren, Stephen (Nikki) Browning, Scott Browning, Kevin Schultz, and Jason Schultz; great grandchildren, Casey and Jenna; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Milo and Darlene Kallies; nieces and nephew, Kathy (Orlen) Grunewald, Christine Zellmer, Susan (Jim) Jensen, Diane (Mike) Lambie, and John (Michelle) Klevesahl. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Vilas (Ardyce) Klevesahl.

A memorial service will be held for Fred at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel with Rev. Virgil Hanson officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Bonduel American Legion Post #217 at the funeral home following the service. Inurnment will be in Friedens Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of service.
