Frieda M. Laude, age 83, of Shawano, died on Saturday, January 5, 2013. Born on November 17, 1929, in Shawano, she is the daughter of Henry and Frances (Eggert) Gross. On May 7, 1949, she was united in marriage to Fred E. Laude who preceded her in death on May 15, 1985. Together the couple farmed in the Town of Pella. Frieda also provided day care for several children and worked at the Wisconsin House for many years. She enjoyed baking and cooking, especially donuts and potato pancakes, shopping, listening to polka music, playing cards and flower gardening. She was known as a loving and caring person and for her great sense of humor; she loved April Fools Day. Frieda called her kids every day, and loved her grandchildren. Frieda was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano. Frieda is survived by: 4 children, Rhonda (Andy) Larson of Baraboo, Larry (Luanne) Laude of Shawano, Kay (Robert) Marquardt of Shawano, Tom (Judy) Laude of Shawano; 8 grandchildren, Chad (Amber), Jennifer (Tony), Amber (fiancé, Christopher), Steven (Ashley), Sarah (fiancé, Dylan), Katie (fiancé, Jon), Ben, Maggie (Patrick); 8 great-grandchildren, Jai, Liam, Asher, Easton, Ayden, Josh, Riley, Chance; a brother, Vernon (LaVonne) Gross; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.She is preceded in death by: her husband; parents; twin sister, Elfrieda (Lyle) Gollnow. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2013 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Gisele Berninghaus officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family will be establishing a memorial fund.
