IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gail A.
Martin
April 17, 1952 – December 2, 2020
Gail Martin was taken to her new eternal home by Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on December 2, 2020. Gail was born in Wausau, on April 17, 1952, to the late Frank Metko and LeRayne Adams. Gail touched many hearts along her journey. Many may remember her from the Patio Restaurant on Main Street, where she worked for numerous years. She went on to work for Shawano Health Services (formerly Manor Care) for many years, where she cared for her co-workers, and was a team-player. Gail always had a soft spot in her heart for the older generation. She genuinely enjoyed spending time with them.
Gail loved much and was very loved! Gail was a kind, warm, and very caring person. She loved her family, friends, and grandson. When her grandson, Chris's parents, were unable to care for him, Gail provided a safe, loving home for him. She placed her needs secondary to his, many times, with an endless, selfless love. She was an avid reader, loved Bingo, and playing Canasta with her family on a regular basis. Family was most important to Gail. She looked forward to get-togethers with her siblings until the end. Her potato salad will be remembered always! Gail loved a good story, joke, and laughter. She loved her family and they loved her! Gail will be greatly missed!
She is survived by her grandson, Christopher Martin, Jr.; two sisters, Lea (James) Nilles and Terrie (Jerry) Timm; and two brothers, Pat (Diane) Metko and Mike (Janine) Metko.
Gail is preceded in death by her soulmate of 33 years, Vincent "Billy" Fish; her son, Christopher "Chip" Martin, Sr., her father, Frank Metko; her mother, LeRayne DesForge; sister, Mary Buchholz and her grandson's mother, LaRonna Webster.
Private family services were held.
A special thank you the staff at Paiser's Oak Haven for the wonderful care given to Gail, especially Stormy, Jody and Colleen, Dr. Starr's oncology team from ThedaCare, along with her closest friends Rosie, Emma, Shirley and Cheryl. A memorial fund for Sam25 has been established.
