Gale Sidney Norton, age 72, son of the late Calvin Arthur and Sadie Ruth Norton, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2012 in his sleep. He was currently residing in Sheboygan, Wisconsin but had been a longtime resident of Green Bay, Wisconsin for over 35 years. Gale was born July 12th, 1940 in the family's log cabin, in the Town of Wescott, Shawano County, WI. He graduated from Shawano High School (Class of 1960). After graduation, he entered the US Army (1960-1965): The Cuban Missile Crisis occurred during the time he served his Country. After discharge from the Army he lived in Mineral Wells, TX, Waupaca, Shawano, Green Bay, and Sheboygan, WI. Throughout his life he worked as a cook, truck driver and mechanic. He enjoyed spending time camping, hunting, attending/watching car races (particularly with his grandson Brandon Michael Lardinois), attending all of Brandon's sporting events, and most recently playing cards with the people at the Senior Apartments at his new home. Gale Sidney Norton is survived by: his sister, Sharon (Dennis); children, Katrena (Eddie) Browning of Witchita Falls, TX, Kimberly (Danny) Watts of Mineral Wells, TX, Kyle (Kimberly) Norton of Las Vegas, NV, Kalynda (Less) Hair of Mineral Wells, TX, Keith (Jennifer) Norton of Perrin, TX, Gale Richard Norton, Tammy (Stephen Froelich) of Marshfield, WI, Carrie Norton-Leaden (Patrick Leaden) of Green Bay, WI, Mark Jacobs, Stacy (Chase) Clark; special Daughter-In-Law in Sweden, Therese Norgren; his grandsons, Bryce, Blake, and Oliwer; 26 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Also, sister-in-law, Karen Lorentz and her spouse George; Godson, Dustin Nabbefeldt; and special friends, Annette Nabbefeldt and Carol Ann from Waterview Apartments. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Calvin Arthur and Sadie Ruth Norton; brothers, Arthur, Richard, Kenneth Norton; and son, Cory Lee Norton. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. David Barrett officiating. Burial will be in the Lake Drive Cemetery in the Town of Wescott. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday after 10:00am until the time of the service. You welcomed me into your lives and made the last months of my life better. Without all of you my life would have seemed empty.
