IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gary Allen
Keshena
November 3, 1953 – December 15, 2020
Gary Allen Keshena, age 67 of Green Bay, began his journey to the spirit world on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. Gary, the great-great-grandson of Chief Keshena, was born on November 3, 1953 to the late Francis "Zeke" Keshena and Yvonne Irving in Keshena. He graduated from Shawano High School in 1972 and continued his education at Indianapolis University Purdue of Indiana – Harron School of Arts graduating with a bachelor's degree in arts and education in 2007. On July 29, 2005, Gary was united in marriage to Noreen Marie Bell in Indianapolis. Gary did a truly wonderful thing by co-founding the Wise Men's group at Wise Women Gathering Place in 2011. This group was for men looking for support in their wellness journey or looking to maintain their wellness through peer support. Five to eight men met weekly, with up to 13 at times for over 10 years. Gary has been genuine, thoughtful and caring in all interactions, always looking out for the best interest of all. Many men in our community and beyond found support and camaraderie in healing and wellness. Gary's dream was to teach Native American children art. He was a magnificent artist and shared his talents with others. Gary also loved to sing and play guitar. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Gary is survived by his wife, Noreen; children, Molly Keshena, Elizabeth Keshena and Kelly (Michael) Guinan; stepchildren, Cathie (Ben) Williquette, Cortlee Plass, and Christopher Plass; grandchildren, Damon Proffitt, Isabel, Maxwel, and Abagail Guinan, and Samuel, Nathan, and Frances Gillihan; step grandchildren, James, Hayden, and Christopher II; godson, Reece Wilke; and siblings, Guy Keshena, Frank Keshena, Tony Keshena, Kay Keshena, and Michelle (John) Keshena and step sister, Paula (Marv) Keshena. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frances "Zeke" and Yvonne Keshena, and stepmother, Marlene Keshena.
A gathering of family and friends will be held for Gary on Saturday, December 19, 2020 from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm. Due to COVID-19 masks will be required and family requests that family and friends limit their time in the funeral home.
