Gary Lee McDaniels, age 81, of Bowler passed away on Sunday December 8, 2024, in Wausau. Gary was born on June 1, 1943, to the late Marjorie Stick. Gary enlisted in the United States Army and served his country proudly. He enjoyed his time living in Arizona and his many trips to Mexico. Gary was a talented guitarist and loved country music.  In his free time, he enjoyed gambling, playing golf and was a boxing fan. His great sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Gary is survived by his children, Danny McDaniels, LeAnn Berg, Derek (fiancé Lauren Egstad) McDaniels, and Shannan (Sean) Wolfe; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Gary is preceded in death by his son, Kevin McDaniels; brothers, Roger, Lonny, Ronny and Ricky; and mom, Marjorie (Stick) Doxtator Reimer.

A funeral service for Gary will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday December 15, 2024, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham with Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 11:30am until the time of service. Burial and military honors will be held at the Red Springs Cemetery following the service.
