Genevieve Alice Hein, age 83 of Gillett, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at her home at Bass Lake surrounded by her family. She was born on October 6, 1930 at South Branch, the daughter of the late Mathias and Genevieve (Pecore) Otradovec. On September 13, 1952 she married Ruben Hein at St. Joseph of the Lake Catholic Church, South Branch. The couple made their home in West DePere until moving to their Bass Lake home. Genevieve enjoyed bird watching, playing cards, sewing and above all else, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an active member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Keshena where she served as secretary for 12 years. Genevieve is survived by: her husband, Ruben; her children, Kenneth "Digger" Hein of Gillett, Darrell (Sharon) Hein of Holmen, Michael (Debra) Hein of Wrightstown, Jody (Bill) Van Camp of DePere, Dennis (Diane) Hein of Shawano, Becky (Wayne) Hendricks of Wrightstown, Myron (Chrissy) Hein of Green Bay, Alicia (Steven) Wilke of Shawano; 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings, Adelbert of South Branch, Sylvia of Keshena, Leila of Quinnesec, MI, Angie of Combined Locks, Roberta of Columbus, MO, Romelda of Shawano, Christine of Oshkosh, Matt of Silver Spring, MD, Margaret of Keshena, Joe of South Branch and Roseann of Lac Du Flambeau and her precious dog, Sam. Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents and 8 siblings, Irvin, Marcella, Roger, Eleanor, Orville, Laurel, Melvin and Francis. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 3rd, 2014 at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Keshena with the Rev. David McElroy O.Praem and the Rev. David Barrett officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph of the Lake Cemetery, South Branch. Visitation will be held at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
