Obituary

Genevieve Lillian Loveland, age 87 of the Town of Herman, passed away Friday, November 02, 2012 at her home. Born on December 16, 1924 in Leopolis, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Lillian (Ashenbrenner) Sousek. In April of 1946 she was united in marriage to Donald Loveland at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Leopolis. The couple made their home in the Leopolis area where Genevieve would be lifelong resident. Genevieve worked for the Caroline Post Office for 28 years and was the Post Master from 1982 until she retired in 2001. She was also the owner of the Leopolis Grocery Store from 1980 until 1993. Genevieve was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and was active in the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Leopolis Homemakers, NAPUS (National Association of Postmasters of the United States) and was a former Leopolis 4-H Leader. In her free time, Genevieve enjoyed bird watching, traveling, rock collecting and stamp collecting. She was also an avid sports fan and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on the Brewers, Packers, Badgers and NASCAR drivers. Genevieve also enjoyed time spent with her family and loved having them around her. Genevieve is survived by: 7 children, Dwight (Angela) Loveland of Hilbert, Terry (Pam) Loveland of Stratford, Kay Harris of Leopolis, Gail Loveland of Shawano, Debra Loveland of Appleton, Mark (Diane) Loveland of Tigerton, Dawn (Dave) Wied of Clintonville; 17 grandchildren, Brian (Carrie) Loveland, Jeff (MaryAnn) Loveland, Erica Loveland, Kathy (Justin) Fischer, Scott (Sharon) Blanke, Andrea Blanke, Kelly Blanke, Lindsey Blanke, Deana McKenzie, Stephanie (Stephen) Good, Rachel Krueger, Joshua Krueger, Lori (Jason) Peterson, Lisa Loveland, Donald Loveland, Amie (Jason) Kendl, Andrew Pfister; 22 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Arlene Blashe of Green Bay. Genevieve was preceded in death by: her husband, Don on December 10, 1958; a son-in-law, Frank Harris; a granddaughter, Stacey Krueger; her parents; 2 brothers, Dennis and James Sousek; and a brother-in-law, Donald Blashe. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Leopolis with the Rev. Patrick Lloyd officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Monday from 4-8pm and on Tuesday from 9am until 10:30am when the procession leaves for the church. A Parish Wake service led by Deacon Howard will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 7pm.
