George F. Asenbrener, age 76, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at his home. George was born on February 2, 1950, in Shawano to the late George F. and Catherine (Steckbauer) Asenbrener, Sr. On April 25, 1981, he was united in marriage to Minnie Wurth in Leopolis. In George’s free time, he enjoyed fishing, bird hunting, trips to Canada, watching sports, tinkering/fixing things, and spending time in the woods with his brothers, Joe and Jeff. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Leopolis. George was a stoic man with a great sense of humor, he loved his family and his dog, Sammy. An amazing father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend; he will be deeply missed.
George is survived by his children, Deborah (Lenny) Schmidt, Peter (Darla) Asenbrener and James (Lanna) Asenbrener; grandchildren, Cassandra (Dalton Johnson) Cable, Jetta Stuckart, Zachary Robertson and Dillan (Hope Hujet) Schmidt; great-grandchildren, Lyllie, Dayzie, Jameson, Arabella, Grayson, Lauren and Brooklynn; siblings, Eugene (Ellie) Asenbrener, Mary Jo Fuhrman, Jeff (Amy) Asenbrener, Gloria (Dave) Kratzke and Jill (Rick) Grunewald. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
George is preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Minnie; brothers, Peter Asenbrener and Joseph Asenbrener; brother-in-law, Vernon Fuhrman; and parents, George and Catherine Asenbrener.
A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
