George LeRoy Connolly, age 54, of Shawano, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2011 in Appleton. Born on July 26, 1957 in Milwaukee, he is the son of Betty (Christiansen) Wawrzyniakowski and the late George A. Connolly. George worked in the Veteran's Hospital in Milwaukee for 17 years before moving to Shawano in 1998. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Shawano as well as several organizations including We Are People, Beyond Darkness, Bread Basket and Folk Festival. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and playing bingo. George is survived by: his mother and step-father, Betty (Jerry) Wawrzyniakowski of Shawano; sister, Sandra Smith of Shawano; brother, Roger (Christie) Connolly of Shawano; step-sister, June Wawrzyniakowski of Shawano; step-brother, Bruce (Diane) Kosbab of Milwaukee; several nieces and nephews; and 3 special friends, Geoffrey, Gail and Julieanne. He is preceded in death by: his father, George; step-father, Fritz Kosbab; and step-sister, Charlene. Funeral services will be held at 6:00pm on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Dan Taylor officiating. Visitation will be on held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services.
