Gerald Thomas "Oogie" Weso, age 70 of Neopit, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Oogie was born on February 17, 1950 in Keshena to the late Frances M. "Babe" Weso. On June 3, 1973, Oogie was united in marriage to Mary Alice Jackson in Keshena. He was a tribal police officer, prosecutor, and judge. Oogie loved to work with the schools and special needs children. He also worked for Belle City Amusements. Oogie loved to be in the outdoors spending his time fishing and hunting. He enjoyed spending time telling stories to his family and friends. Oogie especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

Oogie is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary; children Monroe (Ruth) Weso of Wittenberg, Michael Weso of Shawano, and Nathan (Amanda) Weso of Zoar; grandchildren, Monroe II, Alana, Dominic, Faith, Hope, Emilee, Benjamin, Mckayla, Owen, Melodie, Raven, and Renesmee; siblings, Thomas (Denise) Weso of California, Mary Sanapaw of Appleton, and Donovan Walker of Neopit. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Weso Walker; grandfather, Monroe "Moon" Weso; grandmother, Jennie (Heath) Weso; and siblings, Diane, Robert and Terri Ann.

A funeral service for Oogie will be held at 6:00 pm on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Mr. Joe Daniels, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home beginning at 2:00 pm until the time of services.
