Gerald J. "Jerry" Soufal, age 88, of Shawano, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021.  Jerry was born in the Town of Waukechon on March 10, 1932 to the late James and Bernice (Calhoun) Soufal.  Jerry grew up on the family farm, he attended local grade schools and graduated from Bonduel High School in 1950.  On September 9, 1953 Jerry was united in marriage to Carol Steward at St. Rose Catholic Church in Clintonville.  Jerry and Carol lived and worked on a farm for the next 10 years. Jerry then worked for various lumberyards in the area until retiring in 1997.  In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding motorcycles.  Jerry was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano where he served as an usher.  He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.

Jerry is survived by: his loving wife of 67 years, Carol; his children, Kevin (Jean) Soufal of Green Bay and Mary (Steven) Johnson of Eden Prairie, MN; five grandchildren, is Andrea (Phillip) Verville III, Gregory (Cathie) Soufal, Stephanie (Anthony Gladych) Soufal, Garrett (Bridget) Johnson, and Casey (fiancé Mitch Koebnick) Johnson; as well as six great-grandchildren.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Preceding Jerry in death are his parents, James and Bernice Soufal, Sr. and siblings, James Soufal, Jr., Patrick Soufal, and Beatrice Martin.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano on Wednesday, January 27 ^th , 2021 at 11:00am with Fr. Scott Valentyn officiating.  Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday prior to the service beginning at 9:30am.  Burial in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery will be in the spring.
