Gerarda M. (Okimosh) Peters, age 67 of Keshena, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton. Gerarda was born on March 28, 1953 in Keshena to the late Peter, Sr. and Delvinia (Waters) Okimosh. She graduated from Shawano High School. On November 25, 1991, Gerarda was united in marriage to Darrell Peters. Gerarda worked at Menominee High School and at Menominee Casino. She enjoyed going to the casino, hunting, fishing, and riding in the woods. Gerarda was the best cook ever! She loved her family dearly especially her grandchildren. Gerarda will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

Gerarda is survived by her husband, Darrell; children, Frank (Tina) Okimosh, Ree Okimosh, Leslie (Geronimo) House, Delvinia (William) Okimosh, Justin Okimosh, Justina Okimosh, and Fallan Okimosh; grandchildren, Frank Jr., Darrell, Hunter, Channing, Isabella, Bryce, Payton, Dean III, Delvinia, DaVannee, Kesoq, Koda, Audra, Kenai, Carl III, Cyrius, Casheous, and Chance, Sr.; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Audrey Okimosh, Peter (Cathy) Okimosh, Jr., John (Mary) Okimosh, Forrest (Renee) Okimosh, Basil (Wally) Okimosh, Richard (Denise) Okimosh, Diane Boivin, and John Teller Sr.; nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Michelle Mauritson; special nephew, Brett "Chip" Okimosh; special friend Dean Waupoose, Jr. She is further survived by other relatives and friends including the Arikara family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Davey Jean Okimosh Reiter, Elthea Richmond, and Anna Mauritson.

Visitation will be held for Gerarda on Thursday, October 29, 2020 from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano the  processional will then leave for Okimosh Cemetery in Keshena with Nahwahquaw officiating.
