Germaine Marie Schwaller, age 72, of Shawano, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at her home. She was born on May 28, 1950, to Dolores (Brickheimer) Pethan and the late Leonard Pethan. Germaine was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Cecil. For 33 years, she worked as a payroll accountant for St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. Some of her hobbies included swimming, counter cross stitch, bingo, cribbage, board games, and participating in raffles. She was an avid gardener and grew award winning hostas. Germaine was an active member of a bowling team and the Meilke Theater.

She is survived by her mother, Dolores; children, Heather (Dustin) Louden and Brian (significant other, Ashley) Schwaller; grandchildren, Emerson and Everett Louden; brothers and sisters, Jerome (Pat) Pethan, Jeanne Pethan, Janice (John) Dieringer, Victoria (David) Ramminger and Pearl (Curtis) Litterer; and former husband of 38 years, Jim Schwaller. She is further survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Germaine is preceded in death by her father and nephew, Jesse Pethan.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Cecil with Deacon Todd Raether and Fr. Scott Valentyn officiating. Visitation will be held at 9:30 am until the time of service at the church. Inurnment will be at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Cemetery in the spring. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
