Obituary

Gertrude Hein, age 92, of Bonduel, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 in DePere. Born on November 8, 1925 in the Town of Underhill, Gertrude was the daughter of the late Frederick and Laura (Schroeder) Wasmund. A member of one of the first graduating classes from Bonduel High School, Gertrude went on to work at Shawano National Bank for four years and then as a bookkeeper for Westerfeld Oil Company for 30 years. She was united in marriage to Vernon Hein at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel on October 6, 1946. Vernon preceded her in death in August of 1989. Gertrude loved gardening, both vegetables and flowers and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel where she was an active member of St. Paul Mission Circle.

Left to cherish Gertrude's memory are: her children, Carol (Tom) Krueger of Green Bay and Mark (Barbara) Hein of Green Bay; five grandchildren, Kate Krueger, Kari (Mark) Williams, Kristen (Tom) Kosman, Kelly (Michael) Schumm, and Erich Hein; and eight great grandchildren, Tyra, Graham, Logan, Dawson, Carson, Jonah, Reagan, and Zoe.

Gertrude was preceded in death by: her husband, Vernon; a son, Dale Hein; her parents; and her brother Leonard Wasmund.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, April 6, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with Rev. Mark Palmer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30am until the time of the service.
