Gilbert E. Mayer, age 94, of Lakewood, died on October 27, 2021. He was born on November 20, 1926, to the late Henry and Lydia (Zelmer) Mayer in Lena. Gilbert served in the United States Army. On August 12, 1950, Gilbert was united in marriage to the love of his life, Jewel Hinkel in Milwaukee.

Gilbert is survived by his wife, Jewel Mayer, children; Gary Mayer, Glenn (Lynne) Mayer, and Judy (Keith) Zugbaum, grandchildren; Jeremy Mayer, Lindsay Mayer, Gregory Mayer, Cherish (Seth) Thomas, and Amber Zugbaum, great-grandchildren Luke and Levi Thomas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held.
