Glenda Jean Hollsten, age 70, passed away on Wednesday September 13, 2023, in Appleton. Glenda was born on July 9, 1953, in Keshena to the late Alfred Newton and Violet Butler. She graduated high school and then went on to receive a degree in Healthcare Management at Fox Valley Technical College. What Glenda loved the most was spending time with all of her family members. She was a lifelong learner and an avid Packer fan. Glenda also enjoyed dancing, going to concerts, fishing, rodeos and winning at the casino.
Glenda is survived by her significant other and best friend, Jose "Carmelo" Lopez Flores; children, Jessica Pruess, Richard Hollsten and Gerry "J.R." (Andrea) Voigt Jr; two grandchildren, Dylan Crow and Stephanie (Jason) Culver; one great-granddaughter, Jaylen Crow; siblings, Renee (Nolan) Mahkimetas, Eugene Newton, Alfred "Baby Gene" Newton, Whatta Dodge, Mike Newton and Gerald Newton; foster sister and partner in crime, Jennie Katchenakow; and nieces and nephews, Missy Mahkimetas-Kurkiewicz, CJ Mahkimetas, Scott Kosbab, Tsilos "Jewels" Kosbab, Tammy (Steve) Swierczynski, Carol (Jeremy) Voldsness, Robert, Angela and Brandon Newton, Corey, Carmeron and Heather Newton, Andrew and Steven Newton. She is further survived by many great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
Glenda is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Violet and siblings, Sandra Newton, Everett Newton and Judith Newton.
A funeral service for Glenda will be held at 11:00 am on Monday September 18, 2023, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit, with Fr. Hanz Christian officiating. Visitation will be held at Neopit Community Center from noon on Friday until time of service on Monday.
